Which forums you visit depends on what information you are looking for.  There are forums for everything and anything.  In addition, each forum has it’s only personality.  Here are the pro’s/con’s of the forums I visit.  This is strictly my opinion.  These are in order of most visited to least. 1.  Beginner Triathlete The forums title says it all.  This is my most frequent forum when it comes to my triathlon racing. Pro’s: Endless...

Tough To Argue With Stupid

The trail coordinator for Luton Park ask riders to avoid trails when they are muddy, especially since Luton does not drain that quickly. The concern is the widening of the trail, erosion damage and tire ruts. Here is a response from a user on MMBA trail condition forums: G.R.XC-MTNBKR wrote: Those that want a easy, flat, straight trail should stick to the roads then. Quit all the whining about mud and ruts. Some riders...

My Other Blog

March 12, 2011

Guppiesworld is my motivation.  I get 100+ unique visitors a day to this site, and since anyone can see my training plan, I feel like a lazy POS if I don’t follow my plan.  Looking at site traffic, most go to the workouts listed above as well as too my Training Peaks plan in the sidebar.  With Hunter Allen as my training plan coordinator, I think many are piggy backing on my money.  Doesn’t...

MMBA.ORG

Received my renewal form today, which is interesting timing since MMBA is going through a transformation right now.   There’s two faces to the MMBA: The forums and everything else.   Other than the trail guide, the forums are garbage.  Don’t believe me, go post a question on any thread.  You will be attacked from all angles.  You want real mountain biking information, your way better off at MTBR or another forum. Now MMBA the advocacy...

May 28, 2009

Okay here’s the situation, I ordered some clothes from Eastbay on Friday. That same day I ordered pedals from Backcountry (or whatever that new name they gave their mountain bike division). Anyways, I received shipping notification from both later that day. The Eastbay order originated in Wisconsin and Backcountry in Salt Lake City. This information came directly from Fed-Ex and UPS. Here’s where it gets interesting. Both orders have schedule delivery of the 29th....

Do You Twitter?

April 6, 2009
By

I do not twitter for a couple reasons. First,  my friends don’t want to know what I’m doing at every single minute nor do I care what they are doing. If I want to know what they are up to, I’ll just text or call them and ask. Second, it’s a privacy invasion.  There are programs out there that can locate, via gps, people who twitter that are by you.  It shows their name...
